Today, I really wanted to write about my personal photography style. I say personal to reiterate the fact that no one has the exact same photography style as another person. Two people can have similar styles, but there is something that always offsets them from everyone else. In a good way, of course.
When I look through my photos, I see patterns. I see patterns in the way I take the photos and the way I decide to edit the photos. Here are some examples of patterns in my photographs:
I prefer candid shots over posed shots(or shots that look candid).
I like to take artsy photos whenever I get the chance.
I tend to always edit my pictures on the warm side. No "cold" or "hard" edits.
I love serious face portraits. They are one of my favorites to edit. It has something to do with how intense they look and feel. I just really connect with the realness of the photo without the forced smile.
I love, love black and white edits. Color is good and sometimes necessary, but can be really distracting. Plus, black and white is timeless.
I am always looking for a good silhouette.
Those are different patterns in my photography style that make it unique to me. Others have just the opposite opinion which is perfectly alright. I just thought I would share so you could get to know me better.
I hoped this helped if you were considering me as a photographer. Come back soon to see three month photos of my niece and a family shoot.
